How to Make Herbal Eye Drops

During allergy season, but especially when children and adults have conjunctivitis (pink eye), I often get the question “how do I make my own herbal eye drops?” The reality is that these are as easy as making tea. Because herbal eye drops are literally just tea that you drop into your eye.

The most important aspect of this, however, is making sure the tea is strained very very well before placing the liquid in an eye drop bottle. We don’t want to be placing any kind of debris into the eye itself, as that can cause more irritation.

If you feel uncomfortable putting the eye drop into your eye, you can use the eye drop around the eye, on the lid, and very closely to the eye.
