“Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.”
HOSEA 10:12
Welcome to Homesteading for the Kingdom: Letters from the Farm.
It is often spoken that a simple life is the best life. But it cannot truly be the best life if we aren’t pointing it back to the Creator of this life—Yeshua. Could it be that living a homesteading lifestyle is sought after because it is a holy lifestyle? I think so. And until we filter everything through this lens, it won’t fully make sense.
In this newsletter, my hope is to show you why a simple way of living is a holy way of living. That it’s essential because the food and health industry poison the temples of the Lord. That it’s essential because it gives us quiet time in the dirt to work with our hands, to mind our own business, and to glorify Him. That it’s essential because God gave us everything we could ever need to live a life worthy of the calling we have received.
I don’t have elaborate words to persuade you to subscribe. I don’t post in riddles that make you feel emotionalism so that you’ll become addicted to a false reality. I don’t assume I know everything because, on this journey, I realize I’m still learning along with you.
But what I do intend to do is speak truth. Because truth brings liberty. And I’m all about liberty.
Who Is Amy K. Fewell?
I am first a follower of Jesus. Next, I’m the wife to Mark, the mom to multiple amazing little ones, a homesteader, author, herbalist, and the founder of the Homesteaders of America organization and annual events. I’d like to think of myself as a revivalist—in the homesteading sense, and the Christianity sense.
You can discover more of about me and my writings on my website here.
Refuge of Liberty Farm
Are you local to me and want to take control of your food? Can’t grow it yourself but are willing to purchase farm fresh food? Check out our farm website here. We grow non-gmo pasture raised meats, eggs, herbs, lamb, sheep’s milk, and more, right here in Virginia!
Homestead Herbalist Membership & Courses
Many of you may know that I have a course and herbal membership. Over the course of 2023, I will be moving that membership and course over to substack. If you would like access to that course and membership, choose the “Homesteader Herbalist” plan when you subscribe. Thank you for your patience as I move over to this platform!
